द भालेराव---१२

माझी ई-फजीती !
मला मी ब्लॉग्ज लिहितोय याचा काय आनंद ! ते लोक वाचतातही असा माझा गोड समजही झाला होता. मी माझ्या ब्लॉगवर एक गुगल गॅजेट जोडले होते. भेट देणार्‍यांची मोजदाद करणारे. त्यात कोण वाचतय त्याचे लोकेशन एका नकाशात येते. त्यावर एक जण जपान मधून माझा ब्लॉग वाचतोय हे बघून तर मला गलबलूनच आले ! आणि हे सर्व होत असताना काल माझी चक्क ई-फजीती झाली ! आपली एरव्ही होते ती साधी नुस्ती फजीती तर संगणकावर होते ती ई-फजीती !
माझा चुलत भाऊ कॅनडाला असतो, श्री नाव त्याचे. व्यवसायाने माननोपचारतज्ञ आहे. त्यामुळे त्याला मी कधी कधी अवघड असे प्रश्न विचारत असतो व त्यालाही त्यावर फुकटचे भाष्य करायला आवडते. तर असेच पैसे कमावण्यावर विषय निघाला व मी सुचवले की आपण उगाच पैसे कमी पडतील ह्याची काळजी करत राहतो व मरताना आपल्याकडे घर वगैरे मिळून उरलेली संपत्ती असते काही कोटीची ! म्हणजे आयुष्यात एकूण खर्च होतो त्याच्या दुपटीने शिल्लकच राहते. आणि ह्या पुष्ट्यर्थ मी साधारण खर्चाचा अंदाजही दिला होता. त्यापुढे जाऊन मी असे म्हटले की माझे वडील ( आम्ही त्यांना अण्णा म्हणत असू ), मात्र त्यांच्या ध्येयवादापायी सर्व आयुष्यभर अजिबात काही न कमावता राहिले ( तरी पण त्यांच्या पश्चात त्यांचे घर दीड कोटीचे उरलेच !). हे त्यांनी ज्या ध्येयवादापायी केले त्यात एवढी शक्ती होती का की ते प्रवाहाविरुद्ध जाऊन अजिबात काही ऐहिक संपत्ती न कमावता राहू शकले. तर मी त्याला विचारत होतो की अशी शक्ती ध्येयात असते की त्या त्या व्यक्तीच्या खंबीरपणात असते ?
मी हा ई-मेल आमच्या इतर नातेवाईकातही फिरवला. मला वाटत होते की काय अगदी वैचारिक वादविवाद मी सगळ्यांना घडवून आणतोय !
ह्यावर मला उत्तरात एक ई-मेल आला. त्यात पाठवणार्‍याचे नाव होते : अण्णाबेबी ४यू३. आता माझा चुलत भाऊ कधी कधी फिरकी घेण्याच्या मूड मध्ये आला की असे काही तरी टोपणनावाने असे करतो, असे वाटून त्यानेच हा पाठविला असेल असे मला वाटले. आलेल्या टोपणनावी ई-मेल मध्ये अजून म्हटले होते की इथे थंडी आहे. तुमच्याकडे सूर्य काय म्हणतोय वगैरे. शिवाय माझा अरुणोदय-झाला हा ब्लॉग वाचलाय असेही लिहिले होते. शेवटी म्हटले होते की तुझे उत्तर आल्यावर मी माझे फोटो पाठवीन.
तो कॅनडात आहे व तिथे थंडी असते, त्याने अगोदरही काही फोटो पाठविले होते ह्यावरून तर हा त्याचाच मेल ही माझी खात्री झाली. मी लगेचच एक उत्तर पाठवले त्यात त्याच्या विनोदबुद्धीची तारीफ केली होती. आणि मी मग विसरूनच गेलो.
आज पाहतो तर त्याच अण्णाबेबीचा ई-मेल आलेला. मी अधीरतेने तो उघडला. तर काय आश्चर्य ! त्यात एका काळ्या आफ्रिकन तरुण मुलीचा बिछान्यावर पहुडलेला आकर्षक फोटो व माहीती की आफ्रिकेतल्या कुठल्यातरी निर्वासित केंद्रावर आहे व तिचे नाव ऍना आहे. आणि बरेच काही.... जे तुम्हाला समजलेच असेल !
मी समजत होतो माझे वडील अण्णा व त्यांची मुले आम्ही अण्णाबेबी व ही निघाली ऍना आणि ती ही अशी ! काय ही ई-फजीती ! नशीब दारात नाही येऊन धडकली !

My E-Embarrassment !
I was so proud that even at the age of 68 , I am so current with the world trends, I write blogs etc.! And I also was under the impression that people do read such blogs and they like it too !
On my blogs, I had attached a google gadget called visitor counter which gave me the number of visitors and also their location on a world map. People from Japan were reading my blog and I felt nostalgic about the same.
One of my cousins stays in Canada, ( Shree ) and he is psychiatrist by profession. He is fond of discussing difficult subjects on e-mail and I also indulge with him on many ocassions. Once I wrote to him that we unnecessarily worry about making money in our lives and end up leaving behind a large sum unused. I had given a rough estimate of average man's expenditures and shown that we end up leaving behind more than double of what we spend in our lifetime. Then I commented on an unusual example of my father ( we called him Anna ) , who never followed this common money-making trend and lived his life with lot of principles. I asked him whether this going against the trend comes from the strength inherent in any ideology or does it come from one's commitment ? And I was expecting a psychiatrists babble on this....
But I received an email under a psyudoname : Annababy 4u3. I thought he was being mischievous and witty and calling me a baby of my father Anna. He also said it is very cold there and that he has read my other blogs etc. Last time he was to send me some photos but he had forgotten about it. But in this email he said he will send the photos after he receives the reply. I thought it was a bait for my reply !
And lo and behold , today I received an email from Annababy. I also received a photo of a young African lady in a pose reclining on the bed. And she said she is from re-habilitation centre somewhere in Africa and her name is : Ana !
I have been embarrassed many times before but this was my first E-embarrassment !
